Block code makes programming easier to learn by using shape blocks that snap into place. Then take your new knowledge and your robot to the next level by programming with Java script. Don’t Be Intimidated! The downloadable activity guide makes learning easy by providing step-by-step learning activities that leverage the Micro:Bot’s capabilities.

Includes ultra-distance sensor, 6 LED lights, line tracking sensor, Bluetooth module and an infrared sensor so you can control it with the included remote! Measures 3” x 3.125” x 3.5” assembled. Requires 3 AAA batteries (not included). For ages 8+ (Yes, even you can do this!).

For teachers: the Activity Guide includes NGSS and Computer Science Standards.

What makes this ‘Bot special?

Micro:Bot runs on the microprocessor platform called Micro:Bit – this is very exciting, because unlike Arduino, you can code directly in your computer browser at makecode.org !! This eliminates a lot of compatibility issues with Windows/Mac, and the user doesn’t have to worry about updates!

But wait- there’s more! This item also supports Python, in addition to the JavaScript and Block Code. Python is an OO (Object Oriented) language, and a bit more complex than JavaScript, so this robot will grow with you as your programming skills improve.

About Micro:bits:

A micro:bit enables you to do an amazing variety of functions while introducing you to the connection between hardware and software. These pocket-sized computers allow you to control, manipulate and code on different platforms to take control of this futuristic device.

This kit comes with 1 micro:bit for you to code and explore, allowing you to get started immediately! You may be able to code another micro:bit to serve as a controller. If you already have an extra micro:bit, you’ll just need to reprogram it, or you can purchase one elsewhere. Note: we do not sell individual micro:bits.
