Turn Physics into a Home Run

Bring physics to life in a whole new way as you practice with your pitching arm while gathering measurements! Study the laws of gravity in a fun way with this tool that takes measurements as you use it.

Newton’s G-Ball features a built-in timer that begins counting when it leaves your hand and stops when it comes in contact with another surface. The display measures to the hundredth of a second, up to 29.99 seconds and can be dropped 39.9’ (or approximately 3 stories!).

The G-Ball enables you to perform a wide variety of experiments. You'll be able to determine the acceleration due to gravity, how high up something is, maximum speed of the ball and more. Whether you throw it straight up, down or sideways, you’ll have a hands-on demonstration of the acceleration of gravity. You'll easily understand the basic principles and then learn to use the G-Ball to attempt more advanced calculations.

Use the included Teacher’s Guide to help interpret the calculations you’ve gathered or design new experiments to put Sir Isaac Newton’s laws to the test. And when your done for the day, rest your G-Ball on the included stand.

Measures approximately 3.9” x 3.9". It is approximately the size of a softball, not a baseball. Uses 2 SR54 batteries (included). For ages 14+.

Notes:

  • The G-Ball is made of a high-impact synthetic; it is not made of cork or rubber like a traditional baseball.
  • Do not press on the screen display. This ball is not designed to be hit by a bat.
